Dennis James "Griff" Griffin, 42, of Albany, GA, departed this life Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the The Catch Restaurant from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM where the family will receive relatives and friends.

Dennis was a native of Philadelphia, PA, then moved to Albany, GA making this area his home. He is the son of the late Dennis James Jones and Joy L. Griffin. He served in the United States Marine Corps and he served as a police officer for the City of Albany, then worked in various positions in the field of technology. He ventured into entrepreneurship becoming the co-proprietor of Luke's Pub and Steak House on the Waterfront, then worked for Doublegate Country Club.

Dennis received Christ at the tender age of five years old and was baptized as the youngest member the New Umbria Baptist Church at that time. He was committed to displaying the love and compassion of Christ and lived his entire life in service to others in his own unique way. He became a special type of guy that listened, advised, meditated and loved because he was a true follower of Jesus Christ.

Dennis is survived by his loving mother, Joy L. Griffin, Philadelphia, PA, two sisters Amber Taylor-Maxwell, Hawaii, Samantha Peake, Philadelphia, PA, one niece Lyric Holley Peake, Philadelphia, PA, two nephews Devin Barber and David Griffin, both of Hawaii, three aunts Maureen Verner, Jacksonville, FL, Lisa Miller, Norcross, GA, April Hawthorne, Chunky, MS, and many other relatives, extended family and friends.
