Denise Rose Classon

Denise R. Classon, 66, of Albany, GA, died January 25, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Jamie Baggett will officiate.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Classon was born on June 13, 1952 in Mamaroneck, NY, moved to Orlando, FL at an early age and graduated from Edgewater High School.  She met her late husband, Francis “Bear” Classon and soon after they headed north and settled in Mitchell County, GA.  Mrs. Classon was a homemaker, a great wife and mother and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons, Todd (Lisa) Classon of Mitchell Co., GA, Tracy Classon of Lee Co., GA, Seth A. (Tonya) Classon of Mitchell Co., GA, Brandon S. (Jennifer) Classon and Tracy (Amy) Manos all of Lee Co., GA, two brothers, Jerry (Debbie) Lerza of Orlando, FL and Patrick Lerza of Seth, NY, a sister, Liz Blucci of White Plains, NY and 10 grandchildren, Tyler Classon, Hannah C. Classon, Bryson Classon, Adrene Classon Brunswick, Brandon Classon, Jr., Katie Classon, Kristin Classon, Kaycee Classon, Paisley Classon and Piper Classon.

The family will be at 4714 Palm Street, Albany, GA 31705.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
