Dawane ""D.J."" Earnest Holmes, Jr

Dawane E. "D.J." Holmes, Jr., 22 of Albany, GA died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Melvin Slappy and Randall Culberson will officiate.

D. J. was a native and lifelong resident of Albany, GA. He worked in the Graphic Arts Department at Albany Technical College, a graduate of Westover High School Class of 2009 and was a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church. D.J. was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Earnest Holmes.

Survivors include his father and mother, Dawane E. Holmes, Sr. and Jennifer Holmes of Albany, GA, brother, Nicolas Scott Holmes, of Albany, GA, maternal grandparents, Walter and Peggy Manior of Leesburg, GA; paternal grandmother, Florence Holmes of Albany, GA, three step-sisters, Nicole Ramsey, Mary Brumley and Mona Ramsey all of Sylvester, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
