David Franklin Sandbach, Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather entered into rest on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the age of 94.
Dave was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church, and practiced ministry through Episcopal Cursillo movement, Walk to Emmaus, and Kairos Prison Ministry. Dave attended Christ Episcopal Church in Valdosta, GA from 1963 – 2009, and Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Augusta from 2009 – 2018.
A World War II Army Air Corp Veteran, Dave graduated from the University of Connecticut, and worked for Jiffy Food Stores from 1963-1968. He then worked for Zippy Mart Food Stores from 1968 – 1982, until opening and operating his own business, The Pumping Station, Inc. in Augusta, GA for 34 years.
Dave had an immense love for God and his country, his family, and ice cream. To those who loved him, he was known as the rubber band man, an exercise guru, and for the saying, “if you ever see someone not wearing a smile, give them one of yours.”
Dave was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dottie Sue Biggs Sandbach, his parents, Wilmer and Helen, his brother, William and his sister, Anne. He was survived by his sister, Beverly Heminway, and the following children and spouses: David and Elise Sandbach, Dr. William A. and Lauren Sandbach, Brad and Benita Sandbach, and Greg and Barbee Reeves. The following fifteen grandchildren also note his passing with great sadness: Christopher Sandbach, Katherine McMahon, Lauren Sandbach, Bradly Sandbach, Stephen Sandbach, Margaret Harris, Sarah Brittany Sandbach, Patrick Reeves, Andrea Sandbach, Garrett Reeves, Bryan Sandbach, Parker Reeves, Benjamin Sandbach, Annalee Rayment and Sam Rayment.

Memorial Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 1521 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, Georgia at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018. The family will receive visitors at a reception following the memorial service at 2607 Pebblewood Drive, Valdosta, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honey Creek Episcopal Conference Center at 299 Episcopal Conference Center Road, Waverly, Georgia, 31565.
