David Allen Lockhart, 56, of Albany, GA passed away and transferred his membership from Christ United Methodist Church to an eternal membership in Heaven on August 16, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday August 23rd, at 11 am at Christ United Methodist Church in Albany, GA. Rev Kent Miller and Rev Jeff Cook will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Born in Covington, VA, David had been a resident of Albany, GA, since 1990. He received his registered nursing degree from Darton College and was a critical care nurse for over 17 years working in Cordele, Palmyra and Phoebe hospitals as well as on Life Flight helicopter service out of Sylvester, Ga. David was a sports fanatic, movie lover, and avid golfer. He was a compassionate conservative, a caring nurse, a sensitive man and a best friend. He was a prodigal son, a beloved brother, loving father of four, wonderful husband, a fighter of cancer, and most importantly a follower of Christ. David was many things to many different people in all walks of life but most importantly he was a lighthouse that guided us all back home.
He is survived by his wife Amie Crosby Lockhart, daughter, Rachel, sons Jeremiah, Elijah, and Luke Lockhart and soon to be granddaughter Ava Marie Lockhart, his mother Virginia Doss Lockhart and Aunt Frances Doss, brothers Edward and Charles Lockhart, sister Jeanne Lockhart Jeninngs and former wife Jann Rickett Lockhart.
