David E. Batts

David Edward Batts, 73, of Albany, GA, passed away December 24, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral arrangements will be conducted Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Matt Harrell will officiate.  A private interment will follow at Hartsfield Cemetery in Colquitt County.

David was born in Moultrie, GA to the late Blanie Batts and Clara Beatrice Batts Waters. He joined the United States Army at twenty-two years old and served in the Vietnam War, where he received several medals of commendation. He was employed with Miller Brewing Company in Albany for twenty-eight years until his retirement in 2007 and was a member of the IAMAW Local Union 2699.

Survivors include his wife Pam Batts, a son Jason Batts, daughter-in-law Mandy Batts and a daughter Jennifer Batts all of Albany, GA, three grandchildren Chandler, Lilly, and Brandon, and one great granddaughter Novia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home.
