David S. (Dave) Aldrich (Lt. Col., USMC Ret.), 74, of Lee County, GA, died July 24, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Memorial services will be held Friday at 12:00 noon at the First Presbyterian Church of Albany. Rev. Joshua F. Bower will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. A private committal service will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.
A native of Troy, NY, born to the late Clarence and Gertrude Aldrich, Mr. Aldrich grew up in Green Cove Springs, FL and graduated from Clay County High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam, Hawaii, Paris Island, SC, Lejeune, NC and finally in Albany, GA where he retired after twenty-nine years of service to his country. Mr. Aldrich was employed with ALLTEL Mobile for nine years. He was a member of The Marine Corps League and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2785.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Aldrich of Leesburg, GA, two sons and their wives, Chris and Linda Aldrich of Albany, GA and Tracy and Simone Aldrich of Frostproof, FL, a daughter and her husband, Kelly and Jeff Cochran of Dacula, GA and eight grandchildren, Courtney (Greg) Greenway of Leesburg, GA, Matthew Aldrich and Hannah Aldrich both of Columbus, GA, Madison Aldrich and Greer Aldrich of Frostproof, FL, Paxton Cochran, Chase Cochran and Cameron Cochran all of Dacula, GA and one great-grandchild, Addison Greenway of Leesburg, GA.
