David Clyde Akridge

David C. Akridge, 76, of Acworth, GA died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Tranquility At Kennesaw Mountain Hospice in Marietta, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Mike Maxwell will officiate.

A native of Colquitt, GA, born to the late Paul and Ruby Akridge, he grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Albany High School in 1955. Mr. Akridge moved to Acworth, GA in 1997 from Safety Harbor, FL. He was a retired district manager with the Parts Division of General Motors Corporation. Mr. Akridge was an instructor and avid sheet and trap shooter and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda R. Akridge of Acworth, GA, two sons, David C. Akridge, Jr. of Clearwater, FL and Mark Travis Akridge of Safety Harbor, FL, a brother and his wife, Raymond and Blanche Akridge of Albany, GA, his grandchildren, Chirstie Lyn Nolan and her husband, Roy of Phoenix, AZ, Jacob Michael Akridge of Ft. Myers, FL, Hannah Marie Akridge and Jessica Akridge both of Safety Harbor, FL, one great-grandchild, Derick Nolan of Phoenix, AZ sister-in-law, Ginger Akridge of Cartersville, GA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Akridge, Jr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
