Davest L. (Kip) Hardin, Jr., 61, of Albany, GA, died February 22, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Bush and Sandy Hilton-Jacob will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral services at the funeral home.
Kip was a native of Muscogee County, GA and grew up in Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL and graduated from Columbus High School in 1974. He moved to Albany, GA in 1977 and opened Kip's Auto Radio Distributors. Kip operated his business until he retired medically in 2003. He loved to read, listen to music and playing with his grandchildren. Kip was preceded in death by his father, Davest Lovick Hardin, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of forty two years, Dianne R. Hardin, his children, Jason Hardin and Victoria Hardin all of Albany, GA, his mother, Carolyn "Keela" Hardin of Athens, GA, two brothers, Von (Kimberly) Hardin of Columbus, GA and Chris (Nickie) Hardin of Athens, GA, a sister, Debbie Hardin Davidson of Athens, GA and three grandchildren, Katelyn Owens, Corey Hardin and Rachel Rouse.
