Daniel Eugene Pollock

Daniel Eugene Pollock, 80, of Leesburg, GA, died January 13, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Major Gerry Dorre (USMC Ret.) will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy and American Legion Post #30.

A native of Albany, GA, Mr. Pollock was born to the late, James Pete and Ila Pearl Pollock. He had resided in Albany and Leesburg all of his life and served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Korea and Japan. Mr. Pollock was employed with Coats and Clark as a machinist and retired after thirty eight years. He was a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Belle Pollock of Leesburg, GA, his daughters, Leah E. Vann (Mike) of Sasser, GA, Kimela J. Gamble of Leesburg, GA, April J. Pollock of Leesburg, GA and Wendy D. (Steve) Singleton of Venice, FL, his son, Daniel E. Pollock, JR of Ringgold, GA, his brothers, Olin R. Pollock of Madison, GA and Pete (Carolyn) Pollock of Leesburg, GA, his sister, Georgia Faye Styer of Sun City, AZ, his grandchildren, Myles Vann and Taylor Vann of Sasser, GA, Corey Gamble of Albany, GA, Blake Henley of Wichita, KS, Ryan (Berta)Henley of Ft. Belvoir ,VA, Mason Hartsock of Manhatten, KS, Cheyenne McGary of Leesburg, GA, Trey Pollock and Kinley Pollock of Ringgold, GA and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Virginia E. Bailey, Emmie L Rowe Prather, Lois L Kennedy, James Albert Pollock and Benjamin M. Pollock.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
