Daniel Thomas Pelham, Jr

Daniel Thomas Pelham, Jr., known as "Poppy" to those who loved him, 67, of Sylvester, GA formerly of Albany, GA, died May 1, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care-Sylvester. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Flora Ramsey will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg City Cemetery with Military Honors.

A native of Albany, GA, Mr. Pelham graduated from Dougherty High School and spent two years in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad where he worked as a Conductor for 20 years. Mr. Pelham had resided in Sylvester, GA for the past six years. He had a great love for fishing and hunting. He loved his family deeply, and his Lord with all his heart.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Kirkland Pelham of Sylvester, GA, his daughter, Tammi Halstead and her husband, Michael of Panama City Beach, FL, a brother, Bobby Pelham and his wife, MaryAnne of Sylvester, GA, a granddaughter, Kaylee Kirkland of Panama City Beach, FL, three nephews, a niece and several cousins.

The family will receive friends one hour before funeral time at Mathews Funeral Home.
