Daniel Reid Lamb

Daniel Reid (Danny) Lamb, age 56 of Troup County passed away Friday, February 22, 2019. 

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am, March 2, 2019 at Mathews Funeral Home, Albany, Georgia with his cousin, John Yelverton officiating

Danny was born July 9, 1962 to the late Emory Reid (Bo) Lamb and Margie Yelverton in Cuthbert, Georgia, where he was raised until the family moved to Albany.  He was employed at XLC / Duracell in LaGrange, GA.  He had no children of his own, but he loved his family more than anything.  He especially loved to take his niece and nephews on trips, teach them a little history, and just spend time with them.   His hobbies included working on vehicles, which led him to work at Car Quest in the 80s. He loved music and shared it with his niece and wife.  He loved history and talking about everything from family, local area history, and war.

Survivors include his wife, Ashley Mount Lamb; a sister and two brothers, Kathy Lamb Shier (Phillip) of Albany, Honorable E.P. “Bubba” Lamb (Leslie) of Pelham, and Glenn Lamb (Rhonda) of Leesburg; his in-laws, David and Jean Mount of Albany, a sister-in-law, Michelle Mount Mims (W.D.) of Quincy, Florida; a niece, Crystal Gregory (Michael) of Tennessee, and seven nephews, Scott Shier (Diane) of Jacksonville, Florida, Jason Lamb of Utah, Joshua Lamb (Rebecca) of Albany, Allen and Hunter Lamb of Leesburg, Zachary Helms of Quincy, Florida, and J. Helms of Vermont; his Aunts – Cheryl (Joe) Monzie of Bronwood, GA, Hazel Yelverton of Augusta, GA and Helen Rytlewski of Tallahassee, Florida.  He also has many, many cousins, three great nieces and four great nephews.

Danny is preceded in death by both parents, Bo and Margie Lamb; a nephew, Brett Lamb; a grandniece, Hannah Lamb.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Danny’s name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetic Association.  The family will be gathering at the home of Kathy Shier after the service for a luncheon.
