Cyle Jonathan Pittman, Sr

Cyle Jonathan Pittman, Sr., 65, of Preston, GA. and Live Oak, FL. formally of Lee County, GA. died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate.

A native of Valdosta, GA Mr. Pittman was raised in Hamilton, FL and had resided in Lee County, GA. for thirty five years before moving to Webster County. He graduated from Hamilton County High School in 1968 and married Maxine Singletary on August 10, 1968 at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Suwanee County, FL. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army. Mr. Pittman retired from Miller Brewing Company in 2005. He was a hunter, fisherman, enjoyed raising a few cattle and small time farming after his retirement and was a member of Wellborn Masonic Lodge # 13 F& A.M. in Wellborn, FL. Mr. Pittman loved his children and grandchildren and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Pittman of Preston, GA, a son Cyle Pittman, Jr. and his wife Vickie, of Lee County, GA a daughter Amanda Rice and her husband Jeff, of Webster County, his grandchildren, Reilly Pittman, Alex Pittman, Garrett Rice, Mason Rice, Elijah Rice and Sutherlan Rice, his sisters, Patricia Lord and her husband Sidney, of Live Oak, FL., Jean McGarrah and her husband, Buddy, of Thomasville, GA and Wanda McCall and her husband James of Jasper, FL and many nieces and nephews.
