Curtis B. "Curt" Rhodes

Curtis B. “Curt” Rhodes, 81, of Albany, GA died January 17, 2019 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Hartline and Minister Faron Hamner will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Acree, GA, Curt was born to the late Arkless and Bennie Waters Rhodes on August 9, 1937. He grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Albany High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army and graduated from Florida State University in 1971with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Curt started his career as a Real Estate Agent and was a Pecan Broker before owning and operating Oro World Jewelry for twenty eight years. He had recently been a Broker for Adel Pecan Co. Curt was a member of The Church of Christ all of his life and he was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ophelia Carmichael and a brother, Warren Rhodes.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Rhodes of Albany, GA, his children, Debbie (Clayton) Hartline of Baton Rouge, LA, Craig (Heather) Rhodes of Albany, GA and Kathy (Ted) McManus of N. Augusta, SC and Gary (Sylvie) Rhodes of Riverview, FL, step-children, Donnie (Carie) Daughtry of Richmond Hill, GA, and Shelly (Charlie) McBurnett of Leesburg, GA, a sister-in-law, Mary Rhodes of New Hope, MN, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
