Curtis Shoop Inman, 71, of Albany, GA passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Albany. Dr. William E. "Butch" Knight will officiate. Private interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Curtis was born on December 24, 1952 to Joel Guy Inman, Jr. and Sara Phillips Inman. He grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School. He was retired from Proctor and Gamble after 28 years. Curtis enjoyed being in the woods in his condo that had carpet and a recliner. If he wasn’t watching wildlife he was napping. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on their annual trips to haunted houses.
Curtis’ faithful companion, Maggie, was cremated and will be laid to rest with him. He had a viscous grand dog who bit most men, but Curtis met Gator with a bag of McDonalds cheeseburgers and they became fast friends.
An unlikely haunt of Curtis was U Save It on Meredyth. While picking up his prescriptions several times a week, he would share stories with them after purchasing his Diet Mountain Dew. He had a true fondness of the entire staff and the girls always made him feel so welcomed.
One of the best trips of Curtis’ life was a recent two-week trip to Yellowstone National Park with his brother Joel. As wonderful as the trip was, the highlight was spending time with his brother.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Curtis Shoop Inman, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Chandler Inman, Albany, GA, children, Melanie Patterson, Anderson, SC, Kelly Yawn (Joey), Leesburg, GA, Skipper Saunders (Angel), Moultrie, GA, Lynn Pflepsen (Keith), Leesburg, GA, brother, Joel G.
