Coach Robert Neal Fulmer, III, 70, of Albany, GA died April 9, 2014 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. William D. (Biff) Coker will officate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Sylacauga, AL born to the late Robert Neal Fulmer, Jr. and Mary Jacobs Fulmer, Coach Fulmer grew up in Jacksonville, FL, graduated from Ribault High School in Jacksonville, Fl and played basketball at St. Johns College in Palatka, FL. He went on to graduate from The University of Florida with a degree in Physical Education and served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.
Coach Fulmer coached basketball and track at both Deerfield-Windsor School and Southland Academy during his career. He also taught drivers education and history. Coach Fulmer was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and Brickyard Plantation Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Susan J. Fulmer of Albany, GA, two daughters and their spouses, Tiffany and Joe Ott of Knoxville, TN and Jennifer and Eric Hamilton of Senoia, GA and four grandchildren, Andrew Hamilton, Lucus Hamilton, Jenna Ott and Alli Ott.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
