Clyde F. "Andy" Anderson (MGySgt, USMC, Ret.)

Clyde F. “Andy” Anderson, (MGySgt USMC, Ret.), 87, of Georgetown, GA died July 6, 2023 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.   Pastor Mike Harley will officiate.  Interment will follow with Military Honors at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Andy was born April 22, 1936 in Gastonia, NC to Robert and Nettie Anderson.  He graduated from High School and joined the United States Marine Corps and during his thirty-year career, served in Vietnam. Okinawa, Quantico and other stations.

Andy moved to Albany, GA in 1983 and was employed with the Marine Corps Logistic Base Albany as an Armorer and Equipment Specialist, retiring in 2001.  Andy and his wife, Pat moved to Lake Eufaula full time in 2012.  He enjoyed spending all of his time with family and friends.

Andy was a member of Morris Baptist Church in Morris, GA.  He was also Master Mason and member of Dougherty Lodge # 591 F&AM and a member of and former Worshipful Master and Secretary of Monument Lodge # 741 F&AM.  Andy was a 32^nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Valley of Albany and a member of Hasan Shriners where he served on and was Past Commander of The Legion of Honor.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Anderson of Georgetown, GA, his children, Duane Anderson of New Port Richey, FL, Kevin (Elaine) Anderson of Georgetown, GA and Kimberly (John) Lucas of Chesapeake, VA, Robert C. Law of Albany, GA, Jason (Karin) Law of Tifton, GA and Dawn Whitmire of Albany, GA, his grandchildren, Scott Provau (deceased), Brian Anderson of Carrollton, VA, Brittany Lucus of Chesapeake, VA, Ariana Whitmire of Albany, GA, Brannen Law of Albany, GA and Easton Law of Waycross, GA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.
