Clara "Helen" Wingate Shaw, 84, of Albany, GA passed away Friday March 18, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
Helen was born in Doerun and had resided in Albany most of her adult life. She was retired from civil service. After retirement she founded Pampered Pets and served in capacity of owner for over forty years. During this time she trained many area groomers and served on the Board at Albany Humane Society for a short period. She was an avid golfer and member of the Southeastern Seniors Golf Association and also enjoyed playing and watching sports such as baseball, basketball, and softball.
Survivors include two children Ronald Edward House and Martha Joey Adams, Grandchildren Jason House, Kacey House Gatlyn, Julian Adams, Daniel Adams, Great Grand Children Parker, Tripp, Blakelee, Maddison, Maddox, Kaitlyn, Juliann, Riley, Jackson, Dalton, Landon, Savannah, Connor, and Caiden, a sister Martha Kane, she was preceded in death by her husbands George Shaw and Chester Humphries and a grandson T.J. Adams.
