Cindy Everett Whitaker

Cindy Everett Whitaker, 62, of Fort Valley, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her residence in Fort Valley, GA, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 28, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Watkins will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

She was born on January 14, 1963, to Larry E. Smith and Margaret Everett. Cindy was a graduate of Lee County High School. She was the beloved wife of 44 years to Mike and a devoted mother to her three children: Amy Smith (Rodney), Grant Whitaker (Ashley), and Kelsey Moore (Matt).

She was most affectionately known as “GiGi” to her four grandchildren: Audrey Smith, Evan Smith, Jack Whitaker, and Summer Whitaker. Baby Moore is expected in August 2025. She loved her family deeply. Along with her husband, children, and grandchildren, Cindy is survived by her brother, Jeff Everett (Inga); her mother-in-law, Sue Whitaker; and her sister-in-law, Staci Wright (Hank). She is also survived by her nephew, Dylan Everett, and her niece, Chloe Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Marion Everett; her brother, Randy Smith; and her father-in-law, Eli Whitaker.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
