Christopher (Chris) Slaughter Fields

Christopher (Chris) Slaughter Fields, 83, passed away, Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church, 2806 North Jefferson Street, Albany, GA 31701, at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at the church. Pastor Ken Chancellor will officiate. A private burial for family will follow.

Chris was born March 31, 1934 in Orangeburg, SC to Harold and Gladys Fields. He moved to Atlanta, GA as a child and graduated from Southwest High School in 1952. On September 30, 1955, he married his wife of sixty-two years, Nan Kimble Fields. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1957 in the Army Security Agency. Chris moved to Albany, GA in 1965 and worked in grocery sales for thirty-five years before retiring in Blairsville, GA.

Chris is survived by his wife, Nan Fields, his two sons, Ken Fields and his wife Cathy of Crawfordville, FL, Mike Fields and his wife Angela, of Leesburg, GA, four grandchildren, Brittany, Matt, Laura Lee and Haley, three grandchildren, Chevy, Waylon and Vincent.
