Christine Melvin Kirkland

Christine Melvin Kirkland, 83, of Albany, GA went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 surrounded by her family. There will be a private gathering of her friends and family on Saturday, February 2, 2019.

A native of Marianna, FL, Mrs. Kirkland had resided in Albany since 1953, and was a member of Beattie Road and Dawson Road Church of Christ. Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband Alva Kirkland.

Survivors include a son, Randy Simpson, and his wife Lisa, of Albany, GA, two sisters, Linda Woerner (Bill), of Albany, GA and Agnes Landrum (Dan) of Jacksonville, FL, two grandchildren, Heather Taliaferro (Gregg) of Savannah, GA, and Anna Simpson of Albany, GA, and many loving nieces, a nephew, and many great nieces and nephews who grew up calling her Mama Chris.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in memory of Mrs. Kirkland to a charitable organization of their choice.
