Christine Kierce Hughes

Christine Kierce Hughes, 88, of Albany, GA, passed away, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Willson Hospice House. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 26, 2016 at 3:00pm at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Norman Denny will officiate.

Born in Mitchell County to the late Rudolph and Rosie Kierce, Christine had resided in Albany for most of her adult life. Mrs. Hughes was formerly employed with Dick's Club and Coats and Clark. Christine enjoyed fishing and canning fruits and vegetables. Mrs. Hughes formerly attended East Albany Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin "Jack" Wingate and Roy Hughes, a daughter Susan Marshall, four brothers J.B. Kierce, L.B. "Coonie" Kierce, James Kierce, and Gene Kierce, and a sister Myrtis Stripling, and a granddaughter Kimberly Gay.

Survivors include her son Donnie (Millie) Wingate of Albany, GA, Grandchildren Wayne Wingate of Albany, GA, Cissi Faircloth of Fowlertown, MI, Brandi (Trey) Jackson, Cayla (Jerimiah) Harper both of Lee County, and Britt (Nicole) Marshall of Nashville, TN, fifteen great grandchildren, a sister Helen Butler of Lee County, and numerous nieces and nephews.
