Charlie Less McConnell, Jr., 65, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Born in Bainbridge, GA, Mr. McConnell had resided in Albany, GA all of his adult life. He owned and operated McConnell's New and Used Furniture and Appliances. He was of the Baptist faith and preceded in death by his wife, Susan Elaine Calhoun McConnell, father, Charlie L. McConnell, Sr., a brother, David Earl McConnell and a sister, Patricia Jeffcoat.
Survivors include, six sons, Chuck McConnell, Columbus, GA, Roger McConnell, Lee Co., GA, Ricky McConnell, Albany, GA, Patrick McConnell, Lee Co., GA, Brian Jeffcoat, Albany, GA, Jonathan Poole, Albany, GA, five daughters, Julie Freeman, Terrell Co., GA, Ashley Evans, Brittany McConnell, Anna McConnell and Mary Catherine Allen all of Albany, GA, his mother, Christine Powell McConnell, Albany, GA, four brothers, Edward McConnell, Worth Co., GA, DeWayne McConnell, Michael McConnell and Bradley McConnell all of Albany, GA, four sisters, Louise Womack, Lee Co., GA, Mary Ann Hipps, Baconton, GA, Judy Goree, Putney, GA and Janice Reddell, Albany, GA, twenty nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
