Charley Dave Fox, age 80, of Albany, Georgia bade this world goodbye in the wee-early morning hours of August 5, 2024. Comfortable at home, his wife and caregiver were there at his bed-side when he took his last breath. Charley will lie in his final sleep state, and rest peacefully while he awaits his LORD’S and Saviour’s return to call him home; and Charley will gladly answer the LORD’S call – to meet HIM in the sky. Charley grew up in a God loving Seventh-day Adventist home. His family attended church regularly. Although Charley’s Mom taught the boys respect and good manners, she knew they were boys! Charley’s childhood home was full of laughter, mischief, practical jokes, a whole lot of hard work and a heaping-helping of love for everybody – from everybody. Charley remained faithful to his LORD and Saviour throughout his life; but, that didn’t stop him from having as much fun as he could find or make for himself and those around him! Fun was always respectful – to a degree, and always in a fun-loving manner. Charley was the last of 7 sons born to his parents, Freeman Edward Fox and Mary Eliza Hall Fox: Marion Eugene Fox, Reuben Theodore Fox, Clarence R Fox, Leo Ardell Fox, Bernard E Fox, Lawrence Edward Fox, and of course, Charley Dave Fox. Charley had no idea of what it was like to grow up with sisters, because he didn’t have any; or so he thought. His parents had a knack for birthing only boy babies! Charley was unaware of his father’s previous marriage; in which, his father and 1st wife, Florence A Davis Fox had 3 children together! One boy and 2 girls: Gerald Herbert Fox, Louella Mae Fox, and Dorothy E Fox. We’re not sure if any of Charley’s brothers knew about their father’s previous marriage and the additional brother and 2 sisters! Charley served his beloved USA with a brief stent in USMC, Marine Corp. After exiting the Marine’s, Charley made a living as an over-the-road or long-haul truck driver. Charley’s too frequent and extra extended absences from home, caused many challenges and problem situations, which caused his marriage to end in divorce. Charley was married a total of 60 years; just not all 60 years was with only 1 wife! Charley had a total of 10 children; just not all 10 were with only 1 wife! Sit tight and try to keep up!! Charley and his 1st wife, Aleutia Marie Shrock Fox had 4 children together: Pamela Kay Fox, Tamera Marie Fox, Charley Dave Fox, II and Russell Freeman Fox. Charley and his 2nd wife, Ruth Ann Suma Fox, didn’t have any children. Charley and his 3rd wife Cheryl Lynn Blaney Fox, had 4 children together: Tysha Lynanne Fox, James Mica Freeman Fox, Gregory Allen Fox, and Lalonie Fox. Charley and his 4th and final wife, Evelyn Makilang Salada Fox, had 2 children together: Samuel Charles Fox, and Charlyn Sabeth Fox. Charley finally found his life-partner match and finally understood what having a happy life was all-about. Before Charlyn’s 3 months old birthday, Charley was asked to relocate to Albany, Georgia. Charley and Evelyn packed up their belongings and moved. They found a place to set-up housekeeping, lay-down roots, call this homestead “Home Sweet Home” and raise their family. Sam and Charlyn flourished in their growing up years. And after a blissfully blessed 26 years of marriage for Charley and Evelyn; Albany is where Charley ended his life’s journey. Charley was a member of Adventist Fellowship Church in Leesburg, GA where he served his LORD faithfully as a Deacon and the church’s Safety Officer; and he and Evelyn were head of the Church Cleaning Crew. Charley did all things necessary to keep the church beautiful. Charley fought a long, hard and rough battle with dementia. He did a lot of reading trying to keep his mind active and working, but the progression of the dementia fought back harder. In the end the dementia won. Charley was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman Edward Fox and Mary Eliza Hall Fox; 1 half-brother – Gerald Herbert Fox; 4 brothers – Marion Eugene Fox, Reuben Theodore Fox, Clarence R Fox and Leo Ardell Fox; 2 half-sister – Louella Mae Fox Mauritz, Doroty E Fox Smith; 2 sons – Russell Freeman Fox and Charley Dave Fox, II, and the mother of his first 4 children – Aleutia Marie Shrock Fox Beeskow. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 blessed years, Evelyn Makiland Salada Fox, his 2 youngest children – Samuel Charles Fox and Charlyn Sabeth Fox; all 4 children by Cheryl Lynn Blaney Fox of Florence, MS, Tysha Lynanne Fox (Chris) Wedgeworth of Purvis, MS, James Mica Freeman (Sierra) Fox of Florence, MS, Gregory Allen Fox of Florence, MS, and Lalonie Fox of Star, MS; and his 2 daughters by Marie Shrock Fox Beeskow – Pamela Kay Fox of Palm Bay, FL, and Tamara Marie Fox of Galesburg, IL; a total of 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers – Bernerd E Fox and his wife Judy of Neillsville, WI and Lawrence E Fox of Tucson, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving Charley is the congregation of Adventist Fellowship Church and other close church friends who have moved on; several close neighborhood friends; plus, Casey the Chihuahua and Peaches the tabby-cat. A Memorial Service will be held at Adventist Fellowship Church, 381 Fussell Road, Leesburg, GA 31763 on Sabbath (Saturday) September 14, 2024 at 5:00pm in the evening. The family will receive visitors following the Memorial Service
