Mr. Charles Wood Lamb, Sr. 68 of Leesburg, GA. departed this blessed journey on earth peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Church at The Groves. Pastor Ben Steffens will officiate. Suggested attire is jeans and boots or jeans and flip flops.
Mr. Lamb was born December 20, 1952 in Donalsonville, GA, son of the late Charles Carroll Lamb and Willa Dean Wood Lamb.
Charles enjoyed the outdoor life; camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends.
He was a member of The Groves Church and he was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He worked with farmers for 45 years in the field of Agronomy. Charles was also an avid shallow water fishing guide in Florida.
Charles and the Love of his Life, Darlene “His Brown Eyed Girl” had the Salt Life in their blood.
He always looked forward to waking up in the morning and thanking God for the opportunity to be his humble servant by loving others as Jesus loves us.
He is survived by his wife Darlene Michelle Lamb of Leesburg, GA. seven children, Charles Lamb of Albany, GA., Mary Gambel, Cumming, GA, Carroll Lamb, Panama City Beach, FL, Andrew Ousley, Fairhope, AL, Alex Ousley, Kuwait, David Jones, Jefferson City, TN and Kelsea Lamb of Leesburg, GA., fifteen grandchildren, Brock, Gabe, Lucy, Maine, Isaiah, Ella, Gates, River, Genesis, Everly, Conyer, Clay, Caleb, Sophia, Tala, and his mother-in-law- Marie Collins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at The Church at The Groves.
