Charles Augustus (Gus) Wiggins, Sr., 82, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Phoebe North Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Lawrence Wiggins will officiate.

Mr. Wiggins was born in Colquitt Co., GA on November 27th in 1932 to Charlie Franklin Wiggins and Pearlie Summerlin Wiggins, graduated Lanier Co. High School and attended college at the University of Georgia. He was a member of ASI, PPAI, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Elks Lodge. He moved to Albany, GA in 1953. He was employed by Douglas Guardian Warehouse prior to establishing Gus Wiggins Advertising in 1972. This business allowed him to fill his days traveling in Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and Georgia. He helped many companies grow their business by featuring their company logo on hats, calendars, pens, gifts and etc. Many may remember Gus from the days when he traveled in his Winnebago which was filled with displays of promotional advertising samples.

Outside of his business life, Gus enjoyed each moment spent with his family, friends, grandchildren, holiday meals, fishing and life in general. He made us laugh, feel special and loved. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of forty years, Helen Wilson Wiggins, Albany, GA, a sister, Frances Moore, St. Mary's, GA four daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Padgett, Sasser, GA, Penelope Wiggins, Kissimmee, FL, Susan Wells, Salem, AL, Cami Wiggins Brimberry, Albany, GA., three sons, Charles A. Wiggins, Jr., Valdosta, GA, Chris Wiggins and Carl Howard Wiggins both of Albany, GA, nine grandchildren, Clint Elliott, Lawrence Wiggins, George Padgett, Lane Wells, Whitney Wiggins, Sydney Wiggins, Charley Wiggins, Isabella Wiggins, Lindsey Sellers, and eight great-grandchildren, Jackson Wiggins, Jonathan Wiggins, Kaden Padgett, Silas Padgett, Karlee Padgett, Mackenzie Sellers, Cory Sellers, Sophia Sellers, and a long time care giver Mary Adams.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m until the funeral hour.
