Charles Edward Skinner, Sr

Charles Edward Skinner, Sr., 79, of Lee County, GA, died November 15, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Cottonwood, AL, Mr. Skinner served in The United Sates Army in Vietnam and was employed Panama City News Herald. He moved to Lee County, GA in 1973 and was employed with The Albany Herald and retired as the Pressroom Foreman after twenty years. Mr. Skinner was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed trips to Florida and Alabama.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy T. Skinner of Lee County, GA, four children, Paul skinner and his wife, Laura of Lynn Haven, FL, Chuck Skinner, Sharon Skinner of Orlando, FL and Stephanie Conley and her husband, Brian of Lee County, GA, two step-children, Debbie Powell of Lee County, GA and Susan Myers and her husband, Dean of Crawfordville, FL two brothers, Cecil Skinner and his wife, Amy of Hazel Green, AL and George Skinner of Shellman, GA, a sister, Nell Laramore of Petersburg, TN, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
