Charles Wesley Ivey, Sr

Charles Wesley Ivey Sr., of Leesburg, GA, died Monday December 08, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be conducted Friday December 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate.

Born in Brinson, GA Charles moved to Albany in 1962. He was retired from the Albany Fire Department with over twenty years of service. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard during his spare time. He was a member of Heritage Full Gospel but had recently been attending Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by a son Charles Wesley "Chuck" Ivey Jr. and his parents R.V. and Evelyn Ivey.

Survivors include a son Brad Ivey and his fiance Heidi Summerlin and her daughter Kaitlyn all of Leesburg, GA, a sister Joyce (Billy) Black of KY, two brothers Judge (LeNelle) Ivey of Warner Robins, GA and Donald Ivey of FL, a girlfriend Vicky Carter of Leesburg, GA, and close friends Harold and Rita Gregory of Leesburg, GA.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
