Charles Lee Godwin

Charles Lee "Charlie" Godwin, 61, of Leesburg, GA, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Mathews Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. Dr. Ron Baxley will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Birmingham, AL, Mr. Godwin had resided in Leesburg for the last 38 years coming from Albany. He was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church and owned a carpentry business for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Godwin of Leesburg, a daughter, Jennifer King (James) of Leesburg, a son, Charles Lee Godwin, Jr. (Amie) of Tifton, six grandchildren, Tyler King, Brieana Godwin, Dylan Godwin, Kyle Godwin, Emilee Godwin, and Alexa Godwin, three brothers, Joe Robison (Linda) of Waycross, Wade Robison (Dot) of Lee county, and Robert Godwin of Trussville, AL, and three sisters, Susie Perry (James) of Trussville, AL, Grace Ussery (James) of Waycross, and Sandy Cook of Trussville, AL.

The family will receive friends Friday at Mathews Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
