Charles Kessler Devereaux

Charles K. Devereaux, 80, of Lee County, GA, died May 5, 2013 at Wilson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Roger Montgomery will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

A native of Savannah, GA, Mr. Devereaux retired from the United States Marine Corps after twenty two years and served in Korea and Vietnam. He moved to Albany, GA in 1960 and returned to live in Lee County, GA in 1971. Mr. Devereaux owned and operated his landscape company until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. Devereaux of Lee County, GA, a daughter, Deborah S. Ketzel and her husband, Richard of San Antonio, TX, three sons, Michael A. Devereaux and his wife, Debbie of Plant City, FL, Steven C. Devereaux and John P. Devereaux and his wife, Janet all of Lee County, GA, two sisters, Donna Carnish of Bloomingdale, GA and Carolyn Cowart and her husband, Billy of Savannah, GA, nine grandchildren, Danny (Misty) Oliver of Albany, GA, Shanna (John) Horne of Moultrie, GA, Jason (Joy) Oliver of Blue Ridge, GA, John Oliver of Albany, GA, Steven Devereaux of Brandon, FL, Weston Devereaux of Kissimmee, FL, Rick (Michelle) Ketzel of Houston, TX, Nicholas (Hannah) Ketzel of San Antonio, TX and Brian (Emily) Devereaux of Valdosta, GA and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Lynne Oliver.
