Charles F. (Charlie) Calfee, 63, of Leesburg, GA, died May 25, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, May, 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Andersonville National Cemetery. Scott Tomlinson will officiate. Military Honors will follow.
A native of Tucson, AZ, Charlie grew up in Arizona and California. He graduated from Pueblo High School and served in The United Sates Army in Vietnam. After Vietnam, he attended and graduated from Rogue Community College. Charlie was a Police Officer and retired from the City of Grants Pass Police Department in Oregon after twenty two years. He moved to Leesburg, GA a year ago to be closer to his family and was a member of Forrester Community Church and the Patriot Guard Riders.
Survivors include his wife, Robin M. Calfee of Leesburg, GA, his children, Jarrod Calfee of Reno, NV, Erin Vekony of Tucson, AZ, Jason (Lea) Neel of Leesburg, GA and David (Robyn) Neel of Gold Hill, OR, a sister, Dolores Calfee of Tucson, AZ and his grandchildren, Michael Vekony, and Alexis Vekony of Tucson, AZ, Austin Calfee and Dylan Calfee of Kearney, AZ, Kaitlyn Neel and Austin Lee of Leesburg, GA, Alysia Neel of Conyers, GA and Logan Neel of Gold Hill, OR.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
