Charles E, Bonnell, 75, of Baconton, GA., died Sunday April 12, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Bonnell, Rev. Bobby Moye and Rev. Charlie Rouse will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Salem WVA, the only child of Jennings and Leona Bonnell. He graduated from Salem High School where he was involved in sports and band. He attended Salem College for two years. Mr. Bonnell served in the West Virginia National Guard reserves for six years. Over the years he was a manager for the Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Company. He was a manager for the West Virginia department of welfare. Mr. Bonnell was a supervisor for Walden inventory service

In 1969 he moved his family to Albany Georgia where he was an auditing supervisor for Sing Oil Company for 20 years. Mr. Bonnell retired early and he and his wife Sue traveled the first 13 years visiting all the states and all the provinces of Canada and spent time touring Mexico. They lived their dream. Mr. Bonnell was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, spending time with his family and sports. His grandchildren were a special blessing. Mr. Bonnell was preceded in death by his parents Jennings and Leona Bonnell and his son Greg Bonnell.

Survivors include his wife Sue Bonnell of Baconton, GA. a daughter Cheryl Weaver and her husband Ben of Baconton, GA. a daughter in law, Lesa Tucker of Americus GA, a son Rev. Scott Bonnell and his wife Lisa of Tallahassee FL. his grandchildren, Rick Jones, Brittany Bonnell, Brooke Hutcheson, Jacob Bonnell, Ethan Bonnell, Chloe Bonnell and a great granddaughter Tate Bonnell.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
