Cecil F. Norman, 86, of Lee County, GA, died March 18, 2015 from injuries received from an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at Putney United Methodist Church. Rev. Cathy Green will officiate. Committal services will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo, GA at 2:30 PM.

Mr. Norman was born in Norman Park, GA on December 14, 1928 to the late Corbett and Ruby Norman. He attended school in Colquitt County, GA and served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Norman moved to Putney, GA in the early 1960’s and raised his family there. He was very active in youth baseball and was one of the founders of The Putney Community Center. Mr. Norman was an electrician and was formerly employed at Turner Field, with The Georgia Power Company and retired from Georgia Electric. He was a member of Putney United Methodist Church and was a fifty five year member of Dougherty Lodge # 591 F&AM. Mr. Norman was preceded in death in March of 2014 by his wife, Melba Cooper Norman.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Norman and his wife, Donna of Fitzgerald, GA, Don Norman and Chris Norman and his wife, Anne all of Albany, GA, his daughter, Brenda McMillan and her husband, Rick of Lee County, GA, a sister, Ethel Key and her husband, Cecil of Moultrie, GA, seven grandchildren, Kayla Norman, Josh Norman, Trent McMillan, Wesley McMillan, Lindsay Norman, Cory Norman and Allie Norman and one great-grandchild, Seth Sutton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
