Catherine Leigh Watkins

Catherine Leigh Burgess Watkins, 77, of Leesburg, GA, died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Berlin, GA, Mrs. Watkins had resided in Leesburg, GA for the past twenty years moving from Albany, GA. She was a nurse and was previous employed with both Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and Palmyra Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, William Jackson Watkins, Sr.

Survivors include five sons, Jack Watkins (Lucretia), Lee Co., GA, Bobby Watkins (Kathy), Lee Co., GA, Dewayne Watkins (Sherry), Worth Co., GA, Tim Watkins (Laura), Lee Co., GA, Rev. Mark Watkins (Melanie), Byron, GA, two daughters, Sally Crook, Lincolnton, GA, Cathy Hughs (Rick), Chattanoogna, TN, a sister, Pearlie Williams, Atlanta, GA, twenty five grandchildren and thirty four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 pm. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
