Carolyn Lastinger Taylor

Carolyn Lastinger Taylor, 80, of Terrell Co., GA passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Henry and Rev. Charlie Rouse will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Moultrie, GA, Mrs. Taylor was an LPN, and worked her entire career caring for the elderly in several facilities in southwest Georgia. She was immensely proud of this accomplishment. She loved her family, friends, flowers (she could plant a stick and it would bloom), and dogs (many over her lifetime).  She would do anything she could for those around her. She could also be feisty. She let you know where she stood without any question. She loved Jesus and called on Him often. In the latter days, she would have found comfort in Romans 8:26, ‘Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.’ NKJV. She was a member of  Sasser First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulia G. Lastinger and Thereisa Duke Lastinger.

Survivors include her husband B. L. Taylor, Terrell Co., GA, her children, Kathy Ricks (Nicki), Flowery Branch, GA, Andy Ricks (Suzanne), Jefferson, GA, grandchildren, Paul Ricks (Allison), Hoschton, GA, great-grandchildren, Bentley Murphy, and Lane Ricks. Her stepchildren, Sherry Gilley (Melvin), Terrell Co., GA, Teresa Hodges (Dale), Lee Co., GA, Jerry Taylor (Cathy), Dothan, AL, brothers, Wyatt Lastinger (Angela), Clarkesville, GA, Tommy Lastinger (Gloria), Albany, GA, sisters, Patricia Howerton, Sasser, GA, Jean Daniel, Sylvester, GA, son of her heart, Wendell Burt (Lisa), Leesburg, GA and a number of nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved with her whole heart.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral services at Mathews Funeral Home.
