Carol Delaine Townsend

Carol Delaine Townsend, 71, of Albany, GA died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital North. Graveside services are to be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Mark Spraggins will officiate. Gene Newell, Tony Newell, Kim Moore, Todd Morgan, Joey Morgan and Brian Morgan will serve as active pall bearers.

A native of Sylvester, GA born to the late Kim and Evelyn Barfield, Mrs. Townsend lived in Redrock, GA before moving to Albany, GA as a child where she lived most of her life. Along with her late husband, Milliard Dale Townsend, she owned and operated Dinner Bell Catering, Inc. for many years. She was a Member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Morgan and Shirley Crosby.

Survivors include two sons, Barry Townsend and his wife, Teresa, Zack Townsend and his wife, Mischelle, five grandchildren, Brittany Townsend, Jason Townsend, Sarah Townsend, Zachery Townsend, Jr. and Sabrina Townsend all of Albany, GA, a sister, Debra Smith and a brother Carlos Slater both of Worth County, GA.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. There will be a procession from the funeral home to Crown Hill Cemetery.
