Carol Oleda Wilson Corbett, 67, of Albany, GA died Thursday, January 3, 2016 at Willson Hospice House. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 5:30 PM at the Adventist Fellowship Church, 381 Fussell Road, Leesburg, GA 31763. The family will receive family and friends at 6:30 PM in the church’s Fellowship Hall, immediately following the Celebration of Life Service.

Born in Blakely, GA, Ms. Corbett grew up in Albany, GA where she lived her entire life. She retired from Proctor and Gamble after working there for 25 years. Ms. Corbett was preceded in death by her birth parents, Raymond “Monroe” Wilson, Sr. and Rena Lee Wilson McCree, and her legally adopted father whom she lovingly referred to as Pop, Jack Calhoun McRee, her sister, Barbara Kirby Fricks and her brother Raymond “Ray” Monroe Wilson, Jr.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew & Marie Corbett of Leesburg, GA; one sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda Wilson & Ben Harris of Albany, GA; one niece, Karen Kirby Tarleton of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Michael Corbett and Madison Corbett; the father of her son, Jeffrey Corbett; surrogate parents, Doris Oleda Thurman Etheridge and Ronald “Ron” Etheridge of Econfina Creek FL; non-legally adopted little sister, Teresa Griffin and non-legally adopted nephew Justin Griffin both of Leesburg, GA , many great nieces, nephews, cousins and a whole host of close friends she considered extended family.

Please everyone who wishes to attend the Celebration of Carol Corbett’s Life” at her request prior to her passing, please do not wear your Sunday Best! Please wear casual clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, everyday knock around clothes; just no dress clothing.

At the family’s request and Carol’s love for pets, in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Albany Humane Society in Carol’s honor.
