Carmaleta Moore Schoch

Carmaleta Moore Schoch, 92, of Albany, GA, died January 8, 2024 at Archbold Living in Pelham, GA.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Christ Church on Bryon Plantation Road in Albany, GA.  Dr. Gary Brady and Pastor Jeff Cook will officiate.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Schoch was born in Mercer County, MO on August 27, 1931 to Walter and Daisy Moore.  She graduated from Leon High School in 1949 and married Donald F. Ivins soon after.  She married Joseph T. Schoch in 1969 and they lived in Leon, IA and eventually moved to Pelham, GA in 1970.  Mrs. Schoch was a legal secretary and was the manager of the Jewelry Department at Hopkins Drug Store.   In 1983 they settled in Albany, GA where she was active at Christ Church.  Mrs. Schoch loved to play Bridge, arrange flowers, cook, spending time with her family and Ball Room Dancing.

Survivors include her children, Ronda I. Bailey of Albany, GA and Randy (Vickie) Ivins of Camilla, GA, Anne Schoch and special friend Beth Wilkes of Sylvester, GA and Kathy Vansice of Des Moines, IA, her grandchildren, Chris (Rose Marie) Jones of Leesburg, GA, Hunter Ivins of Bainbridge, GA, Heather Woody of Thomas County, GA and Jason (Kylie) Barwick of Grady County, GA, eight great-grandchildren, Lindsey Jones, Caleb Jones, Mary Ella Ivins, Daylee Woody, Ashlynn Woody, Isabelle Woodly, Kale Barwick and Karson Barwick, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday at Christ Church.
