Carlos M. Smith

Carlos M. Smith, 74, of Lee Co., GA died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Rufus Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery with military honors.

Born in Montgomery Co., GA, Mr. Smith had resided in Lee Co, GA since 1961. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed with Hinman Pool and Patio for forty four years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Joe Smith and Nina Mae Williford Smith and he was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Smith, two sons, Tony Tanner (Marie) and Joe Smith (Shannon) all of Lee Co., GA, a brother, Thomas Smith, Montgomery Co., GA, two sister, Ann Herring, Tallahassee, FL, Shirley Sanders, Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Amber Tanner Bullington, Devin Tanner, Caden Smith and Emma Grace Smith and a great-grandson, Luke Bullington.

The family is at the residence of Joe and Shannon Smith, 109 Colee Court, Leesburg, GA, 31763.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 10, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
