Carl Kenneth (Ken) Houston

Carl Kenneth (Ken) Houston died Saturday September 10, 2011 at The Georgia Veteran's Home in Milledgeville, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Early County, GA, born to the late Henry Herbert Houston and Beulah Vera DuBose Houston, he resided in Albany, GA from 1940 until he moved to Lee County, GA in 1960. Mr. Houston was employed with Sears and Roebuck Company for thirty years and retired as Appliance Manager.

He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was a member of Chehaw Lodge # 701 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris W. Houston in 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Houston of Columbus, GA, a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Houston of Kathleen, GA, a grandson, Michael Houston of Dunwoody, GA, a granddaughter and her husband, Holly and Ron Lick of Weston, FL, five great-grandchildren, Zackary Houston, Cameron Houston, Wesley Lick, Parker Lick and Caliegh Ana Lick, a brother and his wife, Jim and Hilda Houston of Lee County, GA and two sisters, Betty Knight of Crisp County, GA and Bobbie Davis of Forsyth County, GA.

The family will receive friends following the service at Leesburg Cemetery.
