Calista Rhames Holt Phillips

Calista Rhames Holt Phillips, 89, of Colquitt, GA. passed away at home with family and friends by her bed-side on September 6, 2023. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Colquitt City Cemetery. Rev. James Scarbourgh will officiate.

Calista was born to Henry Holt and Leona Rhames Holt in Miller County. She was a graduate of Perry Business School. Rassie and Calista enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Canada after retirement. They also, loved going to the river boats with family and friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 73 years, Rassie Phillps, her parents, Henry and Leona Holt, three sisters, Louvenia Widner, Mattie Bush, Daisy Glover and four brothers, Jim Holt, Grady Holt, Collie Holt, and Charlie Holt.

She is survived by her two sons, Toby (Lynn) Phillips of Colquitt and Terry (Jennifer) Phillips of Colquitt, her sister, Inez Womble and a sister-in-law Eloise Holt both of Colquitt. Five grandchildren Allison Kelley of Camilla, April (Dennis) Young of Colquitt, Leigh (David) Green of Valdosta, Ansley (Tommy) Johnson of Kingsland, GA, and Brittany (John) Black-Barker of Bainbridge, twelve great-grandchildren; Briggs and Bree Kelley, Harmony Harper, Davis Green, Laken Timmons, Aubree, Freya, Maggie and Natalee Johnson, and Aden, Hunter, and Ethan Black, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A very special thanks to Rassie and Calista's loyal neighbors for over twenty-five years, Terry and Betty Jo Toole and Buddy and Cheryl Grimes also her neighbors Milas and Carolyn Grant and Steve and Miranda Jenkins. Also special thanks to her caregivers Toni Handag, Barbara Enfinger, Linda Warren, Lisa Day, Mary Roaten and Tammy Hawkins and Peggy from Loving Hands.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to; First Baptist Church of Colquitt, P.O. Box 155, Colquitt GA. 39837. Please make memo to (Homebound Fund) or Agapa Store (outreach fund which helps supply the Colquitt Food Bank)
