Bowden Hires, Jr

Bowden Hires, Jr. 73, of Leesburg, GA died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, in Americus, GA. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Butler, GA, Mr. Hires had resided in Leesburg since 1970 moving from Reynolds, GA. He was a graduate of Reynolds High School and graduated from the University of Georgia, School of Pharmacy in 1969. He owned and operated Leesburg Pharmacy until 1994 and was later employed as a relief pharmacist by Winn-Dixie, CVS and Rite Aid Pharmacies.

Survivors include his wife, Delia R. Hires of Leesburg, GA, a daughter, Kristi Harris and her husband, Ryan of Kansas City, MO, a step-daughter, Addine Harrell and her husband, Dennis of Warwick, GA, a sister, Glenda Seely of Clearwater, FL, three grandchildren, Emily Harris of Kansas City, MO, Chris Harrell and his wife, Traci of Woodstock, GA, Stephen Harrell and his wife, Shea of Leesburg, GA and two great-grandchildren, William James Harrell and Addison MacKinley Harrell.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
