Bobby Russell

Bobby Russell, 55, of Lee County, GA, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Viewing Services will be held at Bobby and Barbara's home at 138 Pineview Drive Leesburg, GA on Saturday July 23, 2016 from 4pm till 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
Bobby Russell was born to Ann and Buddy Russell on June 10, 1961 in San Diego, California. They moved to Albany, Georgia following Buddy Russell's job as an aircraft manufacturer. For the last 31 years Bobby was worked at Procter & Gamble with various roles leading to a promotion to Plant Services. On November 4, 1989 he married Barbara Forward. Aside from Bobby's love for his family and animals his gardening was his fondest interest. He enjoyed canning, beekeeping, fishing, and kayaking.
He will always be remembered for his generosity for others, his sense of humor, and lending a helping hand in times of need. His favorite saying was "If you need a hand or anything call me".
Survivors include his wife Barbara Russell, his children Tommy (Rachel) Russell of Warner Robins, GA, Jeremy Russell of Sylvester, Tina Barfield and fiancee BJ Foster of Leesburg, GA, Lacy Barfield-Wood of Leesburg, GA, Grandchildren Lily Russell of Warner Robins, Lori Russell, Peyton Matthews, Chase Foster, Mason Foster, and Faith Foster all of Leesburg, GA, his father Charles Douglas Russell of Albany, GA, a brother Chuck ( Nancy) Russell of Albany, GA a niece Michelle (Jim) Blackshear of Randolph County, a nephew Keith (Misty) Russell of Lee County, mother in law Rita Mae Hamel of Lee County, GA and many great nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother Anna Mae Russell and a granddaughter Audrey Hope Matthews.
He will be truly missed by all, and no one will ever hold a candle to him! He will be Greatly loved Always and Forever!
