Billy H. Stinson

Billy H. Stinson, 60, of Edison, GA, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center in Cuthbert, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at New Light Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Crowdis and Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.

Billy was born to the late Earnest Harold Stinson and Mary Louise McGee Stinson in Edison, GA and grew up in Morgan, GA. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1975. Billy had lived in Edison, GA since 2004 and he was employed with West Georgia Consortium. Billy enjoyed camping, boating, spending time at the beach, and riding his Harley. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church and attended Enterprise Baptist Church in Edison, GA. Mr. Stinson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mose Nix and Gladys Nix.

Survivors include one son, Billy Stinson, Jr., Albany, GA, one daughter, Mary Kristen Israel and her husband Josh, Leesburg, GA, his significant other, Amanda Ashley, Edison, GA, three aunts, Janice Temples, Morgan, GA, Thelma Jones, Lee Co, GA, Sue Roberson, Douglas, GA, and two grandchildren, Aiden Cole Nix and Abagail Lynn Israel, both of Lee Co, GA.

The family will be gathering at the home of Shirretta and David Beaver, 466A Lovers Lane Road, Leesburg, GA 31763 and at the residence of Amanda Ashley in Edison, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at Mathews Funeral Home.
