Billy Gerald Sadler

Billy Gerald Sadler, 74, of Albany, GA, died November 3, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Kerry Reeves will officiate. Committal services will follow at 2:30 PM at New Home # 2 Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Climax, GA.

A native of Dothan, AL, he was born to the late Barney and Bessie Sadler, grew up in Decatur County, GA, graduated from East Bay High School in Gibsonton, FL, and attended the Institute of Insurance Marketing at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. Mr. Sadler moved to Albany, GA from Waycross, GA in 1974. He was owner of Sadler Marketing Group, Inc. and represented several insurance companies as an independent agent since 1962 until retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church where he taught the Adult 4 Shining Lights Coed Sunday School Class. Mr. Sadler was also active in Bi-Vocational Ministerial work as a licensed and ordained minister since 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Johnston Sadler of Albany, GA, two sons, William "Bil" Gerald Sadler and his wife, Heather, and Wesley "Wes" Hamilton Sadler and his wife, Izzie, all of Albany, GA, two brothers, Don Sadler and his wife, Betty, and Ronnie Sadler and his wife, Judy, all of Pelham, GA, three sisters, Linda Golden of Alexander City, AL, Venette Austin and her husband, Pete, of Pelham, GA, and Sharon Crawford of Climax, GA, and his grandchildren, Savannah Boysen, Macy Sadler, Joel Boysen, Cole Sadler, Layne Marie Sadler, and Logan Sadler. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Buck Sadler.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
