Billy Reed

Billy Ray Reed, 81, of Dawson, GA, passed away on October 27, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  No formal funeral services will be held.  Billy was born in Sulligent, Alabama, on September 24, 1939, to the late Halen and Estelle Reed.  He and his family moved several times during his early life; mostly between Georgia, Alabama, and Indiana.  Billy settled in the Albany area and has resided here for the past thirty years.  Billy was a self-employed truck driver most of his adult life, driving until the age of seventy.  In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers Jimmy Reed, Edward Reed, and a grandson Alex Taylor.  Survivors include his wife of 55 years Nancy Reed of Terrell County, children Ruthann Nichols (Greg) of Worth County, Sheila Taylor (Terry) of AZ, William Reed of Albany, GA, siblings Ernie Reed (Lujean) of AL, Doris Barker of AL, six grandchildren Tiffany, Chad, Austin, Adam, Sheila, and Kelsey, and nine great grandchildren.
