Billy Drew Layton

Billy Drew Layton, 81, of Leesburg, GA, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his residence. A special service will be held honoring Mr. Layton's life Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Westview Baptist Church led by the deacons of the congregation.

Born on October 19, 1934 in Pelham, GA, Mr. Layton graduated from Albany High School and Asbury College in Wilmore, KY before attending the University of Georgia. He worked for the State of Georgia for thirty-four years first in the Department of Corrections as a Parole and Probation Officer and then helping and teaching the blind. He was a member and deacon of the Westview Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and working in the yard.

Survivors include his wife Billie Ruth Troup Layton, one daughter, Sonia L. Coxwell and her husband Albert, one son, Steven Wyatt Layton, all of Leesburg, GA, four grandchildren, Tonii King, Joie Ward and husband Rick, Kaylea Layton, and Karlea Layton, and four great grandchildren, Cameron, Tyler, Lindsey and Laykin.
