Billy Hayes

Billy Hayes, 58, of Albany, GA, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Billy D. Hanna will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Americus, GA., Mr. Hayes had resided in Albany, GA since 1977 moving from Smithville, GA. He was employed with the Marine Corps Logistics Support Base. He was a faithful member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Albany, GA; he loved attending the Pastor's Sunday School Class and serving on the board of trustees. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Hayes and Rose Lee Harper Hayes, and six brothers, Robert Hayes, Sammy Hayes, Owen Hayes, Jr., Bobby Hayes, Raymond Hayes and George Hayes.

Survivors include his wife, Dianna Barthelemy Hayes, Albany, GA, a daughter and her husband, Kristen Hayes Hewitt and Christopherand a granddaughter, Emma Kate Hewitt all of Cordele, GA, two brothers, Jimmy Hayes and his wife Sarah and James Hayes all of Lee Co., GA, and a sister, Helen Cannon, Buena Vista, GA.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
