Bill Whetstine

William F. “Bill” Whetstine, 53, of Sylvester, GA, died Novemeber 23, 2018 at Willson Hospice House.  Memorial services will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Mathews Funeral Home.  Father Thomas Raines will officiate.

A native of Albany, GA, born to the late Art and Linda Whetstine, Bill lived in different stations during his father’s military career before returning to Albany.  Bill graduated from Dougherty County High School in 1983 and received degrees in Culinary Arts and A/C Repair from Albany Technical College.  He was employed with Superior Creek Lodge as a maintenance supervisor and was a member of the St. Albans Anglican Catholic Church.  Bill was also a member of Dougherty Lodge # 591 F & AM, Hasan Shriners and The Loyal Order of The Moose # 1285.

Survivors include his siblings, John Edward (Kim) Whetstine of Jefferson, GA and Mary Anne Adkins of Sylvester, GA, a niece, Leslie (Wayde) Douglas of Vero Beach, FL and three nephews, Bryan Whetstine and Andrew Whetstine both of Jefferson, GA and Joseph (Michelle) Adkins of Sylvester, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
