William “Bill” A. Cecille, 83, of Albany, GA, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #30.
Bill was born in Chicago, IL, to the late Clarence Bernard Cecille and Sophie Cecille Gundlach. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps and served four years during the Korean War era. After the Marine Corps, Bill perused photography and was a well-known professional wedding photographer in Albany, GA. Bill later worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier and after 30 years he retired as a supervisor. Bill was an active member of the Albany Pecan Peddlers Bicycle Club and a member of the American Legion Post #30. Bill was a dedicated member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed attending his Sunday School class. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Ann Cecille, two daughters Kimberly (Tommy) Powell of Columbus, GA, and Kelly (Terry) McCabe of Acworth, GA, grandchildren Mark Powell of Columbus, GA, Stephanie Varner of Waleska, GA, and Hannah Varner of Acworth, GA, brothers James (Mary Ann) Cecille of Steamwood, IL, and Larry (Phyllis) Palmisano of Ft. Myers, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
